This flow, made with Grandma Mary’s gold and black “vein like” beads, and bright bold red feathers flowing down on golden chain were inspired by the way Lava looks when Pele is actively seen above ground, the hot lava moves and flows in river like motions that looked to me like veins. Just as rivers of water flow through the earth and remind me of the veins of Mother earth, so does lava and is just as much creating Earths pulse within this sacred process. This pair embodies the “fire within” and letting it flow so that it gets to where it needs to go. If we keep it held in too close, it can feel like our fire begins to go out, and this pair reminds us to let it flow, as when wearing this pair the red feathers dance in the breezes, so that it comes through and stokes our inner flame to help keep our hearts warm and our connection to this life in full stoke.
